The objective of the toolkit is to ensure that both male and female have
equitable access to resources and equal participation in influencing their own
development, resulting in a fair division of benefits of a project in the
community.
With these goals in mind, on November
19th and 20th, 2010, BNRCC brought staff and partners
together to participate in a Gender Mainstreaming Training Workshop at Topview Hotel
in Abuja, with an overall objective of the workshop to build the participants’
capacity in gender and development issues in Climate Change Adaptation.
Specific training sessions included:
understanding the difference in climate change hazard and effects on men and
women; incorporating gender concerns into every aspect of the project management
cycle and activities; to use gender responsive tools and techniques for effective integration of
gender concerns in all project activities; developing and utilizing gender
indicators for monitoring and evaluation of a project.
